Making a Difference With Scholarships

The Phelps County Community Foundation has established a long tradition of administering and providing scholarships to area students. Today, the Foundation manages approximately 45 scholarship funds and awards nearly $135,000 in scholarships annually. These scholarships are made possible by generous individuals, families, or organizations who desire to help others in their quest for higher education.

The Foundation utilizes one scholarship form to determine the eligibility of nearly all scholarships. Approximately five scholarships require completion of separate scholarship forms. These scholarships are noted within the general application form available through the Foundation office.

The universal scholarship application form can be found on our web page between December 1 and February 15, each year. For ease of use it is available in both Word and PDF formats. If needed, paper copies of the scholarship applications may be obtained by contacting the Phelps County Community Foundation office or by contacting a guidance counselor from the student's south-central Nebraska high school. Applications must be postmarked, or delivered to the Foundation office on or before 5:00 p.m., Feb. 15 annually.
